A dynamic hub of research excellence in the humanities supported by a world-class faculty, the School of Humanities provides a rigorous and holistic education to develop students into well-rounded individuals who are able to think critically and articulate their ideas clearly and confidently. Through the dedicated efforts of our faculty and students, we hope to make a significant difference to society and culture in Singapore and beyond.
At present, SoH has more than 110 full-time faculty members educating nearly 1,500 undergraduates spread across the core humanities— the study of history, language, literature and philosophy.

Second MajorStudents can choose to pursue a second Major in another discipline offered either by: - their home School, or - by another School within the College. The second major provides students with breadth of exposure and is also designed to provide greater depth of study in an additional discipline. Students will graduate with a degree in their First Major upon satisfying the academic requirements of the School. The Second Major will be shown on the final transcript, and students will receive an additional certificate. Students will need to obtain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 4.0 in their first year at university to be eligible to take up a second major. MinorWe encourage students to pursue a Minor in any of the Major disciplinary areas, as well as subjects that are not offered as a Major, or even one of our exciting Interdisciplinary Minors. To do a Minor, students are required to complete at least five core courses. These five courses will be counted under the elective requirements of their undergraduate programme. Unique Minors offered by the School of Humanities include: Minor in Art History Minor in English Creative Writing Minor in Chinese Creative Writing Minor in Translation Minor in Modern Languages Interdisciplinary Minors offered by the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences draw on the courses from the School of Humanities, the School of Art, Design and Media, the School of Social Sciences and Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information. An interdisciplinary minor is a great option for motivated students who are looking to enrich their educational experience.
